Elisabetta Gardini (PPE), in writing. ‒ The trafficking of human beings is one of the most serious issues that the EU is facing in the present moment and this lucrative business need to be fought at every level of governance. Since the start of the refugee crisis in Europe, more than 10 000 unaccompanied migrant children have disappeared. This cannot be tolerated and we must do everything within our capabilities to stop these activities. In terms of external actions, we need to strengthen our regional and international cooperation in order to put pressure on the human traffickers and we must include this aspect in our dealings with third countries in our neighbourhood.
