EU-Uruguay Agreement relating to the accession of Croatia (A8-0241/2016 - Pablo Zalba Bidegain)

  Liadh Ní Riada (GUE/NGL), in writing. – I abstained on this report. Under the WTO rules, the EU has to negotiate with its partners new conditions due to the accession of Croatia to the EU. The Commission proposes modifications related to tariff rate quotas on bovine meat. The Commission is also preparing an implementing Regulation regarding several tariff rate quotas. The amendment to the Agreement is mainly technical, but because there is a possibility that the modification of the tariff rate quotas on beef may have a small effect on European farmers, including in Ireland, I did not vote in favour but abstained.
