Tripartite Social Summit for Growth and Employment (A8-0252/2016 - Csaba Sógor)

  Doru-Claudian Frunzulică (S&D), in writing. ‒ As co-legislator, it is essential that Parliament, represented by the Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) is invited to the Tripartite Social Summit (TSS) for Growth and Employment on a regular basis. The PPE rapporteur, Mr Sógor, the shadows and the EMPL coordinators proposed that consent be given to the Council position only on the condition that the Chair of the EMPL Committee is invited to the TSS on a regular basis. Respective assurances should be given by the Council and the Commission prior to the plenary vote. In the meantime Parliament received a letter from the Council and the Commission confirming that the EMPL Chair will be invited to the TSS also in the future, thereby satisfying Parliament’s demands. I therefore voted in favour.
