Petr Ježek (ALDE), in writing. ‒ I supported the accession of Peru to the 1980 Hague Convention because the Convention represents the international insurance system of the immediate return of children who have been abducted, which has high importance nowadays. It is in the interest of EU citizens that Peru joins the Convention and enlarges the list of the countries which have already agreed to cooperate in such cases. A functioning system of cooperation ensures children’s rights on the international level.
