Findings and recommendations of the Special Committee on Terrorism (A8-0374/2018 - Monika Hohlmeier, Helga Stevens) (vote)

Claude Moraes, Chair of the LIBE Committee. – Mr President, I’ll be very brief. Speaking under Rule 171, given yesterday’s solemn events, it’s important that we stand as united as possible as a Parliament. Colleagues will of course have noticed that there are clear political differences and nuances in this report. If I may I would like to add the point regarding the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) oversees the work of the Special Committee on Terrorism – and indeed the work of the rapporteur – that now would be a good time to recognise the amount of work that is done to achieve consensus on this sensitive file from all political groups. Even if we vote differently on specific amendments, it’s my hope that the whole House will be able to give support to this report in the final vote.
