Branislav Škripek (ECR). – Madam President, I was happy to support this motion designed to reduce racism. I think it should in no way be outdated in our European societies. Many of our African brothers and sisters were brought to Europe under awful situations. We cannot be proud of these thefts and dehumanising acts. For true reconciliation to take place, we must acknowledge these facts, apologise and if possible make restitution, then forgiveness between nations can bring these issues to an end. It is essential that this generation be colour blind. There is no one who shouldn’t be promoted or marginalised based on their skin colour. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our greater God.
