Order of business

Anna Maria Corazza Bildt (PPE). – Mr President, I would like to raise the issue of the plight of the children born of terrorists from ISIS and Daesh. Some of them are in prison, detained in Syria and Iraq in terrible conditions, together with adults.

I would like to call on you to call on the Member States to search actively for them, rescue and bring them to Europe for the care that they deserve as European citizens and for reintegration. No child is born a terrorist, and the best interest of the child has to be upheld. Member States have to respect the Convention for the Rights of the Child and the Charter of Human Rights of the European Union. These children cannot pay for the mistakes and the crimes committed by their parents. I hope you agree with me.
