Parliamentary questions

21 January 2015
E-009057/2014(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Bieńkowska on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-009057/2014

The Commission's 2011 Strategy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is now under review. The public consultation generated more than 500 responses and a report analysing its findings is already available(1). The report also contains an annex with an overview of progress with the various actions of the strategy; together these will provide a basis for the deliberations of the CSR Multi Stakeholder Forum on 3-4 February 2015, which will in turn generate further expert input for the review.

The Commission is also planning to publish a Staff Working Document on Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the coming months. Work with Member States on development of national CSR Action Plans, and development of sectoral platforms for CSR, is ongoing. Further information on these can be found on the Commission's CSR websites(2).
