Question for written answer E-009108-14
to the Commission
Rule 130
Marlene Mizzi (S&D)

 Subject:  Ban on circus animals
 Answer in writing

On 21 October 2014, Malta banned all animal circuses, making it the 28th nation to take action against animal suffering in circuses, and joining Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece and Cyprus in prohibiting all circus acts involving animals.

Can the Commission clarify what actions have been taken by other Member States with regard to the ban on circus animals?
