16 March 2015
Answer given by Ms Malmström on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-011061/2014

The Commission has committed in its Work Programme 2015 that it will amend, not withdraw, its proposal for an International procurement Instrument (IPI). As for the background for the proposal for the IPI, the Commission would like to refer the Honourable Member of Parliament to the written answer to the Written Question E-008844/2014.

The Commission is currently engaged in an internal reflection on possible review in line with the priorities of the new Commission, aiming at more transparency, better regulation and simplifying the procedures. In this context the Commission is closely studying the amendments proposed by the European Parliament, and these will form an important part of its reflection. No decision is yet taken as to when the Commission will present its amended proposal.
