Question for written answer E-005808-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Marijana Petir (PPE)

Subject:  Third round of compensation to fruit and vegetable producers affected by the Russian embargo
 Answer in writing

The European Commission has adopted a Delegated Regulation No 1371/2014/EU (supplementing Regulation No 1031/2014/EU) which excluded fruit and vegetable producers from Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria from the third round of compensation to fruit and vegetable producers affected by the Russian embargo on agricultural products from the European Union.

Given the importance of that aid to Croatia, I am asking the European Commission to explain the reasons for the exclusion of Croatian fruit and vegetable producers from Regulation 1371/2014/EU and what specific criteria it applied with respect to Croatian producers.

As this exclusion is detrimental to Croatian producers, please explain the manner and conditions under which the European Commission can enable Croatian fruit and vegetable producers to exercise their rights.
