E-011475-15
Question for written answer E-011475-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Mercedes Bresso (S&D)

 Subject:  Russian embargo on agricultural products from EU countries
 Answer in writing

The EU Council has recently approved the extension of sanctions against the Russian Federation, for another six months. These sanctions, in conjunction with the Russian embargo on some typical EU agricultural products, are having a severe impact on the EU agricultural sector, which, in the long run, is likely to lose thousands of jobs.

Can the Commission therefore say:
what solutions it proposes to deal with this situation;
whether a fund similar to the Globalisation Adjustment Fund can be established?
