Question for written answer E-012736-15
to the Commission
Rule 130
Marek Józef Gróbarczyk (ECR)

Subject:  Nord Stream 2 agreement and the third energy package
 Answer in writing
An agreement was recently signed in Vladivostok between the Russian Government and the companies BASF and E.ON (Germany), ENGIE (France), OMV (Austria) and Royal Dutch Shell (UK and the Netherlands) with a view to the Nord Stream consortium adding new lines to the Nord Stream gas pipeline. With that in mind:
1. Does the agreement comply with European energy legislation, in particular the rules laid down in the third energy package?
2. Will the new pipeline provided for in the agreement be subject to the strict conditions of the third energy package?
3. Is the current Nord Stream gas pipeline operating in line with the rules laid down in the third energy package?
