to the Commission
Rule 130
Marek Józef Gróbarczyk (ECR)

Subject:  Gazprom Eurobonds and EC law
 Answer in writing

It has recently been announced that the Russian company Gazprom intends to issue more Eurobonds through banks based in the EU, in particular Deutsche Bank.

1. Has the Commission verified whether the planned Eurobond issue is in keeping with EC law?

2. Has it checked whether it meets the requirements for safe trading of financial instruments within the EU?

3. Why has the issuing of Eurobonds by Gazprom not been made subject to EU sanctions on financial instruments?
