E-000321-16
Question for written answer E-000321-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Geoffrey Van Orden (ECR)

Subject:  EU financial support for the Palestine Authority
 Answer in writing

Many schools under the control of the Palestinian Authority are indoctrinating their pupils in jihadism and violent terrorism. Indeed, many schools are even named after suicide bombers whose example is venerated. The EU is funding many of these schools, in particular through the salaries of teachers.

Is the Commission aware of the extent of this hateful indoctrination of Palestinian children? What steps is it taking to ensure that its funding is not directly or indirectly supporting such purposes? What efforts are being made to persuade the Palestinian Authority to rename schools and to remove hate texts from its schoolbooks?
