Question for written answer E-002090-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Daciana Octavia Sârbu (S&D) , Cătălin Sorin Ivan (S&D) , Damian Drăghici (S&D)

Subject:  Strategy for tackling chronic and contagious diseases
 Answer in writing

Migrants and ethnic minorities, including the Roma, have major difficulties accessing medical care in the EU Member States.

In the past year alone, more than a million migrants have entered the EU, most of whom have not yet been granted asylum.

Given that migrants and the Roma minority have lesser access to medical care, will the Commission consider implementing a strategy for the detection of contagious and chronic diseases, such as cancer and diabetes, among these two groups?
