Subject:  Commission proposal for a directive amending Directive 96/71/EC concerning the posting of workers
 Answer in writing

In its proposal of 8 March 2016 for a directive amending Directive 96/71/EC concerning the posting of workers, the Commission replaces the reference to ‘minimum rates of pay’ with a reference to ‘remuneration’.

Can the Commission give a legal definition of the term ‘remuneration’?

In her speech to Parliament of 8 March 2016, Commissioner Marianne Thyssen emphasised that the proposal for a directive amending Directive 96/71/EC would increase mobility.

Does the Commission have studies which demonstrate how mobility would be further increased by the new proposal?

With reference to its proposal for a directive amending Directive 96/71/EC, has the Commission undertaken an impact assessment regarding the increased costs that would be incurred by companies that post workers compared with companies operating in the host Member State which provide similar services?
