Question for written answer E-003741-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Marek Plura (PPE)

 Subject:  Evaluation of the Youth Employment Initiative
 Answer in writing
Given the different characteristics of youth unemployment in each Member State and region and the need to adapt to sometimes rapidly changing situations in the labour market, can the Commission state whether its evaluation of the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) in 2016 will reflect on:
1. the approach taken by authorities in developing the agreed measures to be supported by the YEI and, specifically, whether the approach has allowed for the design and implementation of measures which address the challenges of youth unemployment specific to each Member State and region, as well as the ability to respond to changing situations in the labour market;
2. how such findings might inform future initiatives aimed at tackling youth unemployment; and
3. where the YEI is working best, why that is the case and what conclusions can be drawn that might be applied across other Member States and regions?
