Parliamentary questions
PDF 4kWORD 17k
15 December 2016
E-007214/2016(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Bulc on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-007214/2016

As mentioned in the European Parliament on 4 October 2016, the idea of granting access to a monthly Interrail pass to all 18-year olds for free, which had not been formally discussed or agreed with the Commission beforehand, sends a positive message, though it also poses a number of challenges that require further analysis.

This analysis is ongoing, considering the different possible options, their proportionality, legal and practical feasibility and costs.

The Commission will keep the European Parliament closely informed of the developments on this issue.
