Question for written answer E-007235-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Alain Cadec (PPE)

Subject:  Measures to tackle corruption in the fight against wildlife trafficking
 Answer in writing

In the EU action plan against wildlife trafficking, the Commission lists ‘preventing wildlife trafficking and addressing its root causes’ as a priority. In the paragraph explaining what action will be taken to that end, the Commission writes that ‘multilateral and bilateral measures will be taken to tackle corruption, a crucial enabling factor for wildlife trafficking throughout the enforcement chain’.

Can the Commission say what these multilateral and bilateral measures consist of?
