E-008237/2016(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Bulc on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-008237/2016

In its statement at the Plenary meeting of the European Parliament on 5 October 2016, the Commission announced that it is looking into the issue of summer and winter time. This will include an analysis of the impact of the current arrangements in the Member States, based on available evidence.

It would be premature to conclude at this stage whether or not this could lead to further studies or to an impact assessment. On the basis of its initial analysis, the Commission will consider any further steps.

The Commission is committed to keeping the European Parliament informed of the outcome of its internal assessment and of the next steps it intends to take on this issue.
