 Subject:  Measures to prevent animal testing of ingredients used in cosmetics/REACH

In light of the European Court of Justice’s judgment of 21 September 2016 following the unsuccessful attempt by the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) to undermine the cosmetics animal test and marketing bans set out in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, what new measures are being taken to prevent animal testing of ingredients used in cosmetics from being carried out in order to meet the data requirements set out in REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)?
