E-001041-17
Question for written answer E-001041-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
András Gyürk (PPE)

 Subject:  Electric transport strategy
 Answer in writing

In connection with the Clean Energy Package, the Commission also mentioned its European strategy for smart transport systems. In my view, this is indeed important, but at the same time I believe that a particularly important element is missing from it: the issue of the energy source used to power means of transport.

1. Is the Commission planning a European Union framework strategy for electric cars?

2. What would be the main aims of such a framework strategy?
