E-004202/2017(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Vestager on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-004202/2017

The Commission does not have any pending formal proceedings on competition law grounds in relation to the distribution of airline tickets. It is, however, monitoring the developments in the market, notably in light of competition concerns raised by a variety of stakeholders.

If the Commission suspects a possible infringement of the EU competition rules, it may open formal proceedings against the companies concerned. Such a decision to open proceedings is generally made public by a press release, in line with Paragraph 20 of the Commission notice on best practices for the conduct of proceedings concerning Articles 101 and 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
