Question for written answer E-005386-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Eva Maydell (PPE)

 Subject:  The Wifi4EU programme
 Answer in writing

The Wifi4EU programme for distributing Internet in public places has been announced for municipalities and libraries. In Bulgaria, a large part of public libraries is funded based on numbers and subsidised by the state, and are subordinate to the respective municipality.

1. In this case, is it possible for a particular library to apply under the programme individually or will the funding for the creation of a WiFi space have to be implemented through a project by the respective municipality?

2. Can pan-European non-governmental organisations apply for projects to be installed in more than one city and country or should each project be targeted on a single town and location?
