 Subject:  Maximum journey limit for horses
 Answer in writing 

With regard to Council Regulation (EC) 1/2005, which allows for a maximum journey length of 24 hours for the transportation of horses to slaughter, will the Commission reduce this maximum journey limit to no more than 12 hours for all horses transported to slaughter or further fattening?
