Question for written answer E-006471-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Doru-Claudian Frunzulică (S&D)

 Subject:  Organic agriculture
 Answer in writing

Taking into account that health and food safety for consumers are priority issues and organic food is in high demand, that Council Regulation 834/2007, the EU’s general framework regulation, sets out rules for organic food, and that organic agriculture is expected to play a major role in combating desertification, preserving biodiversity, contributing to sustainable development and promoting animal and plant health, is the Commission considering a reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP) in order to help organic agriculture keep up with the increasing demand for organic products?
