E-000442/2018(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Bulc on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: E-000442/2018

The Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) and Clean Sky are two flagship projects of the Union. They have proven to be effective tools, pooling European expertise and investments into joint public-private partnerships contributing towards achieving policy objectives in the field of aviation, in line with the Commission’s aviation strategy and boosting the competitiveness of the European aviation industry at a global level.

In developing the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework, the Commission will take due account of the achievements of these two initiatives, as well as the recent Council conclusions on partnerships, with the view of establishing effective instruments to tackle the future challenges facing aviation (e.g. digitalisation, decarbonisation, automation).
