Portuguese-Venezuelan immigrants in Madeira

Question for written answer E-001336-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Liliana Rodrigues (S&D)

Hundreds of migrants of European origin have fled the serious political and economic instability in Venezuela to resettle in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

What support mechanisms can the Commission bring to the aid of this region which, given its small size and the constraints of its ultra-peripheral location, is struggling to accommodate these European citizens in a dignified manner while at the same time ensuring that its own needs continue to be met?
