 Subject:  Disability rights in Iran
 Answer in writing 

The European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 commits the EU to promote disability rights in its external action. A 2017 European Parliament report on that strategy calls for EU external action to be compliant with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) and ensure that development cooperation is fully accessible to and inclusive of persons with disabilities.

What measures has the Commission taken or what measures does it plan to take in order to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in the context of bilateral and multilateral engagement with Iran?

What measures has the Commission taken or what measures does it plan to take in order to ensure that development and cooperation initiatives in Iran are inclusive of people with disabilities?
