As the Commission noted in its reply to the written question of the Honourable Members E-004473/2018, the Commission is not in a position to comment on individual cases.

The Commission is also not in a position to assess Member States’ compliance with international agreements that fall outside the scope of the EU treaties, such as the Council of Europe Agreement on the Transfer of Corpses.

The Commission is also not in a position to assess issues that fall under the national competence of the Member States, such as burial procedures.
