Question for written answer E-005834-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Eleni Theocharous (ECR)

Subject:  Securing the property of the Greek national minority in Himara
 Answer in writing

Following letters that I have received personally, with strong complaints by North Epirus residents about the methodical expropriation of expatriate property that has been evolving over many years by the Albanian state in Himara, can the Commission say:

What measures it is taking or intends to take to ensure the protection of these people’s property — within the framework of EU policies on the protection of minorities — given that the new Rama law puts their property titles in question, thus blocking all procedures?
