On 3 May 2018, with an overwhelming majority of 620 votes to 14 votes, the European Parliament adopted a Resolution urging the European Commission to do everything in its power to reach an international agreement which aims to bring animal testing for cosmetics to an end.

The MEPs echoed the strong concerns among citizens, as nine in ten Europeans wish to see the EU do more to protect animal welfare, including at international level.

Apart from the ongoing negotiations as part of the International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation (ICCR), can the European Commission clarify:
