Rule 130
Edward Czesak (ECR)
On 24 May 2018, the Commission issued a decision terminating the Gazprom proceeding by accepting binding commitments from that company. According to the Commission's announcements, the implementation of the decision was to contribute to the quick recovery of competition on gas markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
Due to the expiry of 6 months from the decision, can the Commission answer the following questions regarding the consequences of the implementation of the decision by Gazprom:
- 1.How many entities met the criteria to change the delivery point on the date of the Commission's decision (i.e. 24 May 2018)? Entities should be understood as ‘existing’ or ‘entitled’ recipients (within the meaning of the annex to the decision) holding a contract with a duration of at least 18 months and the volume of receipt of at least 50 million m3. Can the Commission provide the number of entities broken down by individual EU Member States.
- 2.How many of these recipients have accepted/refused/failed to respond to Gazprom's offer? If the recipient provided the reason for accepting/rejecting Gazprom's offer, please provide a short description of the reason.
- 3.How many recipients, who accepted Gazprom's offer to change the delivery point, took advantage of this opportunity and executed a transaction? If there was a transaction, please specify what total volume was transferred to another delivery point.
