Living conditions at the refugee reception centres on the Eastern Aegean islands

More than 14 750 refugees are trapped on the Eastern Aegean islands. Of these, 11 782 live in the official facilities that have been set up, facilities with a capacity of just 6 438, or about half the number.

In particular, the Moria centre on Lesbos has twice as many refugees as it has capacity for, while the Samos centre has 3 744, although it only has capacity for 648.

Bearing in mind that conditions on the Eastern Aegean islands are still inadequate despite generous Commission funding, will the Commission say:
