Parliamentary questions
PDF 25kWORD 22k
14 March 2019
Answer given by Vice-President Mogherini on behalf of the European Commission
Question reference: E-000326/2019

The list of items to be stored in the Warehouse is indicated in COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2018/653 of 26 April 2018(1). Among the items stored in the Warehouse are IT Equipment, communication and medical personal protection equipment as well as vehicles.

The volume of the key equipment and assets stored is sufficient to enable the rapid deployment of a civilian mission up to 200 staff within the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

Technical and standard specifications for the procurement have been developed by Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC) in cooperation with the civilian CSDP Missions.

The provision of equipment from a central source to all Missions ensures the interoperability and allows re-allocation within civilian CSDP Missions if need be.

Neither the CSDP Missions, nor the Warehouse serving the civilian CSDP Missions are authorised to participate in joint programmes with non-EU Member States.
