 Subject:  Infringement of EC law in the Polish slaughterhouse scandal and EU action

Video footage has revealed that the treatment of animals in the Polish slaughterhouse scandal constitutes a breach of several EU animal welfare, food safety, and consumer protection regulations.

1. What is the Commission doing to establish the facts and prevent similar occurrences in the future?2. What progress is being made with the preparations for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2017 on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, which should prevent incidents of this kind?3. Which Member States have gone furthest in implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/625 and transposing it into national law?
