E-001290/2019(ASW)
Answer given by Ms Vestager on behalf of the European Commission
Question reference: E-001290/2019

While stakeholders of Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (Nord/LB) have publicly discussed their intentions for the bank, the Commission understands that no public funds have been granted to date.

It is for the Member State concerned to decide which approach it would like to take, while ensuring compliance with EU rules, including on state aid.

The Commission is in contact with the German authorities and is closely following the case to ensure that EU State aid rules are complied with in the process. Germany has not formally notified any measure to the Commission.
