E-001801/2019(ASW)
Answer given by Mr Andriukaitis on behalf of the European Commission
Question reference: E-001801/2019

As the Commission pointed out in its answer to the written questions P-003709/2017, E-001443/2017 and E-001484/2017, the Commission does not have a position on the issue of euthanasia. Responsibility for healthcare, including care for terminally ill patients as well as related ethical questions, rests with the Member States.

The Commission does not hold an overview of the current legal situation of euthanasia in the Member States.
