E-001989-19
Question for written answer E-001989-19
to the Commission
Rule 130
Mairead McGuinness (PPE)

 Subject:  Paid-for allocated seating

The Commission will be aware of a report by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority entitled ‘Paid-for allocated seating in aviation: an update’, which recommended the setting up of a new framework to assess airline seating practices.

Given the concerns raised by consumers about airlines charging a separate add-on fee for reserved seating on top of the ticket price, has the Commission conducted any research into how this add-on fee might be affecting consumers?
