E-002469-19
Question for written answer E-002469-19
to the Commission
Rule 138
Kira Marie Peter-Hansen (Verts/ALE)

Subject:  Banning the import and sale of new diesel and petrol cars as from 2030
 Answer in writing

In a letter to the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee, the Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, stated that any ban introduced by Denmark on the import and sale of new diesel and petrol cars as from 2030 would be in breach of EU type-approval rules (2007/45/EC).

Will the Commission amend the legislation so as to make such a ban possible?
