 Subject:  Use of drones in coast guard operations

Frontex, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) jointly carry out coast guard operations and share information.

1. Is EMSA sharing information from the Hermes drones it has leased with Frontex and are the drones used in any Frontex operations?

2. Can the Commission outline the activities these drones are used for?

3. Is it considering implementing ethical guidelines on contracts for drones that were developed for and tested during operations that led to grave human rights violations?
