E-003080-19
Question for written answer E-003080-19
to the Commission
Rule 138
Lars Patrick Berg (ID)

 Subject:  US Entity List
 Answer in writing

In a decision described by Commissioner Hogan as ‘reckless’, President Trump has effectively weaponised the global supply chain by extending the US Entity List as part of his trade war with China.

Can the Commission:
1. Indicate whether the US President’s recent decision to extend the US Entity List will apply to US companies operating within the EU?
2. Indicate whether the extension will also apply to European companies?
3. Say to what extent EU-based companies will be required to comply with the licensing and administrative requirements of the US Bureau of Industry and Security as a result of President Trump’s actions?
