Question for written answer
to the Commission
Rule 138
Maria Grapini
Subject: Allocation of European disability strategy funding after 2020

Many people with disabilities in the European Union are still not fully aware of their rights and frequently suffer discrimination. For this reason, a European disability strategy after 2020 is needed. It is necessary to ensure respect for social rights and provide support to those concerned, ensuring that they have access to the requisite medical treatment and healthcare.

In view of this, will the Commission seek to ensure that the post-2020 European disability strategy encompasses policies and specific measures to encourage and support people with disabilities in line with their age and gender and will it earmark funding for remdial treatment?
