The European Parliament report on the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock exchanges and related measures (COM(2012) 0614 — C7-0382/2012 — 2012/0299 (COD)) was adopted in the plenary sitting of 20 November 2013 by a large majority. The following questions arise in this connection:
1. What stage have deliberations on this matter reached in the Council?
2. What is the Council’s internal timetable for adopting the position, and what is the target date for notifying the European Parliament, pursuant to Article 294, paragraph 6, of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union?
3. Which parts of the proposal are considered by the members of the Council to be particularly controversial?
