18 August 2015
P-010543/2015(ASW)
Answer given by Mr Hogan on behalf of the Commission
Question reference: P-010543/2015

The prolongation for one year (until August 2016) of the Russian ban on EU fruit and vegetables and other foodstuff raise concerns about market disturbances, due to decreasing prices, and consequent economic difficulties particularly in fruit & vegetables, milk, sugar and pigmeat sectors. The Commission announced it will prolong the support for certain quantities of products of the fruit and vegetables sector.

The calculation of the quantities allowed for market withdrawals per Member State will take into account the level of past average exports to Russia of the products concerned and the experience gained from the implementation of the previous extraordinary support measures so far.
