The negotiations opened in December 2015 have led to an agreement between the Commission and the Portuguese Government on the capitalisation of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), which was made public in a note sent to the press by the Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, on 24 August 2016.

1. What kind of information was sent to DG COMP to enable it to carry out the procedure? In other words, what subjects did it cover?

2. Was any information received about impairments, including lists of loans with indication of their status and forecasts of future losses?

3. On what dates were relevant submissions produced?
