Given the current fragility of EU-Turkey relations and the conflict close to the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean, it is even more important that a successful reunification of the island of Cyprus take place, recognising the interests and concerns of both communities.

What action is being taken by the Commission to encourage a rapid return to the erstwhile successful negotiations at Mount Pelerin, following their apparent breakdown on 22 November 2016?
