Question for written answer P-001758-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Péter Niedermüller (S&D)

Subject:  Termination of the Guruló workshop network
 Answer in writing

The priority project registered as TÁMOP 1.4.2.-07/01-2008-0001 — the ‘workshop and service network to develop equipment enabling persons with reduced mobility to be employed and live independently’ — has been implemented in Hungary with the aid of the European Social Fund.

The aim of the project is to create a logistical network with which to develop a service enabling home-care equipment (electric beds, hygiene equipment, stair lifts, walking aids and other devices to ensure home accessibility) to be borrowed by those in need. The employment contracts of people working on the project will expire on 30 April 2018. The current operator has not yet told them whether their contracts will be extended or the project will continue to receive financing.

In the light of the above, I should like to ask the following:

In the Commission’s view, what might the consequences be of the scheduled operating period not being adhered to after the project’s financial completion date?

In the Commission’s view, can the project’s objective be achieved if there is no operating period after 30 April 2018, when the project employees’ contracts will expire?
