Clarification of the difference between stray and feral cats

to the Commission
Rule 130
Alex Mayer (S&D)
Charities, rescuers and veterinarians seeking to enhance the legal protection of cats make a distinction between feral and stray cats, stating that the definitions are not interchangeable.
Stray cats are socialised cats now living outside a home, but which might potentially be reintroduced into a home environment, whereas feral cats have not been socialised.
Can the Commission clarify its definitions of stray and feral cats, and indicate whether it recognises that a nuanced position is required to improve the welfare of cats living outside the home?
